Giant King Napier Grass is the fastest-growing energy crop available to Indian farmers — plant once, harvest every month, for years. It is the 100% feedstock of our Palani plant and the backbone of Veppur and Kamudhi. Now we invite farmers who own 250 acres and above — or a conglomerate of farmers who together reach that scale — to become joint venture partners with us in a BioCBG plant, anywhere in India.

Growing conditions

  • Climate: thrives in tropical and subtropical regions with 100+ days of sunshine — most of agricultural India qualifies.
  • Water: 800+ mm (32 in) of annual rain, or irrigation.
  • Inputs: modest fertiliser requirement, no pesticide in current cultivation practice — and our plants return digestate liquid to your fields as free organic fertiliser.
  • Growth: reaches 12 ft in six months; for pellets and biofuels it is harvested at 13 ft after 195 days and every 120 days thereafter.

  • 539–758 litres of biogas per dry kg at 51–57% methane — the numbers behind our plants' economics.
  • Continuous supply: the monthly harvest cycle gives a biogas plant year-round feedstock with no seasonal gap.
  • Proven at scale: our Palani plant is India's first to run completely on Giant King Napier Grass as 100% self-sufficient feedstock; Veppur and Kamudhi each plan 500 dedicated acres.
